Here I am at Mckay-Dee hospital in Ogden UT, a place I didn't even know existed until last Monday, June 21, when Jackie began having contractions. When it was discovered that she was dilated to a 4, she was life flighted from Logan to here. Contractions were stopped and it was calm until Friday, june 25 when they began again and the placenta ripped. This when the Windows of heaven where literally opened and miracles began to happen. I guess you might say that this is where the story begins!
On Friday, June 25th at 330 pm two beautiful, perfect babies entered the world, 15 weeks too early. Jackie's life was preserved as the hemorrhage stopped and the C section was performed.
Weston Mark Schwartz, 1 pound 11 oz. And Addison Grace Schwartz 1 pound 10 oz, both 13 and a half inches long were met by ten neonatal nurses and one doctor within seconds of being born. Weston, who was struggling for breath after he was born, was revived by his team of nurses. Justin was able to see them before they were whisked away to the NICU. Addison grabbed onto her daddy's finger and an eternal bond was formed. Weston was too tired to "pose" but grabbed his daddy's heart none the less!

I took the first flight out on friday that I could get and was here at the hospital with grandma rachel by a little after nine pm. What a neat experience to share with her as I saw my first grandchildren for the first time. I felt the spirit so strongly as we entered the NICU that first night. I am convinced that angels were there watching over the little ones.

Uncle Jordy and grandpa bob arrived. The babies little bodies were in shock as they adjusted to their new life outside the womb. Ventalators, IV's, antibiotics, diapers, lights, and the constant beepings in the NICU! The twins angels today came as nurses Kari and Lori who worked tirelessly to keep the babies stable during their shift.

The Power of the Priesthood
Saturday evening, Justin was able to give his babies a fathers blessing, assisted by grandpa bob and grandpa steve. Sunday morning when we went to the NICU we were greeted with the news that little Addison was able to have her pikline (main IV) put in. Nurses had tried four times previously and had not been successful. Early Sunday morning as they were changing addy's diaper, they noticed a new vein that had not been there before! It had grown in the 4 hours since the blessing! A miracle through the power of the priesthood. The windows of heaven were opened indeed, and I, as a mom and grandma will never forget the tears of gratitude in my sons eyes for the tender mercy shown.
